Covid-19 Construction Consultancy now at Plymouth Science Park

A construction consultancy that played an important role in Plymouth’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic is the latest to join Plymouth Science Park. 

Bates Development Services Ltd (BDS) was founded in 2018 by Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager Tom Bates.

The firm supported the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and Derriford Hospital during periods of extreme pressure by refurbishing wards, to enable extra capacity for critical care and acute dependency patients.

Fay Davies, Business Development Manager at Plymouth Science Park said: “We work closely the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, and are delighted to welcome Bates to the Park so that they can continue to provide bespoke support  to our neighbour at the Hospital, and other laboratory based businesses, particularly as they deal with the demands brought about by Covid.”

The move to the science park provides a decisive step forward for BDS with an increased regional presence to promote further growth within a community of synergetic businesses and support services already based at the Park.
