Torbay's EPIC Centre grows technical capability
The Electronics and Photonics Centre (EPIC) in Torbay has continued to invest in its technical capability in recent months.
The centre now houses >£2M worth of microelectronics equipment that is freely available to tenants. The capability enable businesses to assemble, test, measure, package and align products all within a purpose built technology centre.
EPIC has this week released its latest Capability Document listing all of the equipment, services and facilities available to its tenants. The updated document, available for download here, provides in-depth information about the technical specifications and functionality of all shared equipment.
Launched in 2019, EPIC has been a resounding success and is 70% occupied with 12 high-tech businesses and a culture of collaboration across the site.
EPIC Centre Director Wayne Loschi said: “EPIC has partnered with some very lucrative suppliers in the microelectronics and photonics industry to compile a compelling range of prototyping facilities for our businesses. This equipment will enable current and future EPIC tenants to win more business in some of the more sensitive markets such as MedTech, Aerospace, Defence and Space.”
