Bath-based Storm Consultancy receives B Corp status

Storm Consultancy has become the third company in the city of Bath to receive Certified B Corporation status.

The company develops web applications, websites and systems for startups, scaleups and innovative corporates, and has a team of 15 people.

According to bcorporation.net, B Corporations "are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy."

David Kelly, CEO of Storm Consultancy, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have been certified as a B Corp. It is a testament to the work and effort put in over many years that has built the type of business we have today. To be the first tech business of our kind in Bath and Bristol to achieve the accreditation is exceptionally gratifying. It is also the start of a journey as we work to better ourselves over the coming years."

A blog on the Storm Consultancy website describes the rigorous process the company went through to achieve the status: "Over the last 9 months we have been under the microscope. We’ve been through a rigorous process looking at our policies and practises around the team’s well-being, the value we add to our customers, the environmental practises we employ, the contribution we make to our community, even our company’s governance, ethics, accountability and transparency. Almost every aspect of Storm has been questioned, discussed, evidenced – and ultimately put forward for judgement."
