South West organisations put in a strong showing at last week's Go:Tech Awards, a national event delivered by Business Leader celebrating technology and innovation across the country.

Bath-based software specialists Rocketmakers were the only company to win multiple awards at the event, taking home two trophies for their cabinet.

The company’s Nebula and Orbit software solutions, which bagged them the Most Innovative Use Of Software Or Cloud Technology Award, streamline the processes of assembling, testing and deploying new software.

The Rocketmakers Beam platform, which won Best Use of VR & AR, acts as a content management system for AR and VR environments in real-time. The product simplifies the update process for AR and VR content, and captures user analytics to show content managers which elements in a virtual reality generate the most interest from users.

Nebula, Orbit and Beam were all conceived and developed exclusively by the Rocketmakers team.

The awards are the latest addition to a range of honours won by the company in recognition of its work, including a Queen’s Award for Enterprise won in 2018 and the Best Tech Workplace Award at the Tech South West Awards in 2020. The company’s founder and CEO Richard Godfrey won the Tech Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Tech South West Awards 2021.

Mr Godfrey told South West Tech Daily: “The Rocketmakers team feel honoured to have had our work recognised by being the only company to win double awards at the event.

“Our Orbit, Nebula and Beam technologies encapsulate the Rocketmakers ethos: making impactful software that is as efficient and user-friendly as it is game-changing.

“We’re confident that Orbit, Nebula, and Beam will change how digital products are created globally, and we are delighted to have had them recognised at the national Go:Tech Awards.”

Also at the awards, Somerset company Cardstream, a multi-award-winning independent payments gateway, won FinTech Business of the Year.

The Taunton-based payment solutions firm has previously won Best Payments Service Provider at the MPE Awards, Most Innovative Fintech Solution at the Tech Ascension Awards, and Best Use of Technology at the Somerset Business Awards 2021.

Adam Sharpe, CEO of Cardstream, said: “Winning the ‘FinTech Business of the Year’ award at this year's Go:Tech Awards is a fantastic achievement for the Cardstream team. Thank you to Business Leader and the category sponsors, BPE Solicitors, for hosting such a wonderful evening.”

"With its acquiring network, increasing global interconnectivity, and a vast number of alternative payment methods, Cardstream offers a unique service for partners to create a custom payment solution, branded and taken to market as their own. The team's years of effort, determined commitment, and unflagging work have positioned us to compete for such prized awards."

Meanwhile, TLT LLP, a UK law firm headquartered in Bristol, won Tech Dealmaker Of The Year. The company was named Law Firm of the Year at The Lawyer Events Awards 2021.

The Go:Tech Awards took place at Ashton Gate in Bristol, with 14 categories up for grabs.
