Software development company Ghyston has been named by employee engagement specialists Best Companies as one of the best places to work in the UK.

The Bristol firm, which was recognised for its workplace culture at the Tech South West Awards 2021, has now been named the 6th best place to work in the South West, the 11th best technology company and the 16th best small company to work for.

The rankings are based on the results of a specialised b-Heard survey, a methodology developed alongside academics the University of Plymouth and the Department of Trade and Industry. Questions were asked around eight key areas including leadership and management, opportunities for personal growth, wellbeing, and giving something back to the community.

97% of the team agreed that they “love” working at Ghyston. Best Companies highlighted the firm’s regular Innovation days as one of the reasons why. Ghyston describe these days as “time to down tools to explore, learn or nail down something of interest, often with others from across the business”.

95% of staff agreed that their manager cares about how satisfied they are with their job, while 97% of staff agreed their team is fun to work with.

Emily Hill, CEO at Ghyston, said: “We’re thrilled to feature so highly on three Best Company league tables! Having a great workplace has always been a key focus for us and the whole team works hard to make Ghyston inclusive, progressive and fun. It’s satisfying to see that we are doing a good job of it and very useful to get insights into how we can improve further.”
