CoreBlue, a Plymouth based software development company, has announced their successful partnership with Engaged Communities CIC in developing a community-based volunteering platform called GoVolunteering.

EC’s mission was to build world-class community technology that supports communities, organisations, and charities.

To bring their vision to life, CoreBlue built a cloud-first end-to-end platform offering a volunteer marketplace, a volunteer management hub, and an employer hub that supports businesses in the deployment of their employee volunteering schemes. This platform aligns the profit and purpose of organisations and helps them measure their social value.

The partnership between CoreBlue and Engaged Communities (EC) started with a thorough discovery session, with CoreBlue Project Managers and Developers investing time to understand the long-term vision of the platform and working closely with EC to bring their ideas to life. The resulting platform offers a cloud-first serverless API, a public-facing marketplace of volunteering opportunities, and a volunteer manager portal, all developed as single-page applications in React and distributed using scalable cloud services. The soft launch of the platform was successfully held at Markethall in Plymouth, and the platform is set to go live on March 1st, 2023.

The GoVolunteering platform is a community-based volunteering platform that aims to support communities, organisations, and charities. It is designed to scale and deliver an exceptional user experience to both volunteers and organisations, with a goal to build world-class community technology that delivers social impact for it’s customers.

The platform's cloud-first end-to-end system offers a volunteer marketplace where organisations can access motivated volunteers, a volunteer management hub for volunteer managers to unite their entire team within one system, and an employer hub that supports businesses in the deployment of their employee volunteering schemes. The platform also aligns the profit and purpose of organisations and helps them measure their social value. CoreBlue's security-first approach and Cyber Essential Plus certification ensured that the platform is secure, fast, and reliable.

Engaged Communities CEO Ann Holman remarked, "We have been very fortunate to have CoreBlue on board. They have challenged us, filled the gaps and helped us build a better product, with huge potential." She added that the team at CoreBlue was invested in their vision from day one and worked closely with them to bring their ideas to life. CoreBlue's dedicated project manager provided updates on progress and acted quickly on feedback to help shape the platform as they built it.

The successful soft launch of the platform to key stakeholders marks a significant milestone in the development of the GoVolunteering platform, and both CoreBlue and Engaged Communities CIC are committed to continuously evolving this world-class platform together.

With the platform set to go live on 1st March 2023, organisations, volunteers, and businesses can look forward to benefiting from its innovative features and user-friendly interface.

CoreBlue is proud to have worked on this community-based software and is committed to a deeper partnership with Engaged Communities as they continue to make a positive impact on society.
