Bristol property tech firm announces latest collaboration to drive down energy bills
Bristol-based property tech firm Propflo has announced a collaboration with customer rewards platform Vaboo.
Vaboo will now feature Propflo’s GreenVal energy efficiency report for free to over 250,000 tenants to help them save money on their energy bills. Propflo will also offer Vaboo on its platform as a way of engaging and incentivising tenants to make upgrades.
With the government pressing ahead with new minimum energy efficiency standards for the private and social rented sectors, and energy bills rising again by 1.2% in January after a 10% rise in October, it is a key priority for the country. However, £250bn investment is required to bring UK properties up to standard and 80,000 homes need to be retrofitted per month, so greater awareness and access to information is needed for tenants who have rights to request upgrades from their landlord if funding is in place and if there isn’t a reasonable exemption.
Many tenants are also unaware that they may be eligible for significant grant funding to pay for the upgrades. Propflo identifies grant criteria and improvement partners are then able to apply for funding on behalf of the tenant and landlord.
Luke Loveridge, founder and CEO of Propflo, said: “Vaboo is a great platform and we’re excited that our GreenVal energy efficiency report will be featured to help tenants save money on their energy bills. Vaboo also solves an issue we’ve encountered where a landlord is keen to upgrade their property but then has difficulties engaging their tenants. The whole team are really looking forward to offering Vaboo to our customers.”
