Finalists Announced for Cornwall Slush’D 2025 Pitch Competition

Tech Cornwall is excited to announce ten groundbreaking tech startups that have been selected as finalists in this year’s Pitch Competition at Cornwall Slush’D
The pitch event takes place on Wednesday 17th September 2025, at the Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay
The competition runs from 9am to 12:00pm with a packed agenda of speakers and events from 12pm showcasing the best of Cornwall’s thriving tech scene

Tech Cornwall is thrilled to announce the ten pioneering startups that will take to the stage in this year’s hotly anticipated Pitch Competition at Cornwall Slush’D.

The finalists for Cornwall’s Slush’D Pitch Competition span a remarkable range of cutting-edge technologies, from lightning-fast 3D visualisation with Amutri to AI-powered wellness support from Butterfly Wellness. Charismatic.ai is redefining storytelling with generative scripts and video, while DataHarmony is accelerating breakthroughs in gene therapy research. KASA Tech is making housing for keyworkers more accessible, and Strain Vaults is revolutionising microbial discovery for the bioindustry. STRIBE is bringing personalised, sustainable fashion to life, while Surgassists® is transforming patient consent with VR and AR. Secure AI innovation is at the heart of weareHUMAIN, and Wellness On Tap is connecting communities through Cornwall’s thriving wellness scene. Together, these startups represent innovation with the potential for global impact.

The event, hosted by Tech Cornwall, will be held on Wednesday, 17th September 2025 at the Lighthouse Cinema in Newquay. The pitch competition runs from 09:00 to 12:00, followed by an action-packed afternoon of talks, panels, networking, and an after-party that will showcase the very best of Cornwall and the South West’s vibrant and fast-growing tech ecosystem.

This year’s finalists are (in alphabetical order):

Amutri – The fastest 3D Visualisation platform on the market, transforming engineering design files into interactive 3D presentations in minutes.
Butterfly Wellness – AI-powered wellness tools designed to support people with skin conditions and visible differences, improving mental health outcomes.
Charismatic.ai – From a single idea, Charismatic.ai builds fully realised characters, settings, and storylines, creating scripts for writers and AI-generated video episodes.
DataHarmony – An AI-powered gene editing cockpit to de-risk gene therapy R&D and help cure genetic diseases.
KASA Tech – “Airbnb for keyworkers,” providing affordable, flexible accommodation near workplaces for key workers.
Strain Vaults – Using AI to supply microbial strains to bioindustry and research teams, cutting discovery costs and speeding up innovation.
STRIBE – A sustainable, personalised fashion service offering wardrobe restyling and outfit suggestions based on mood, occasion, and body shape.
Surgassists® – The first VR and AR software to simplify complex medical terminology and anatomy, enhancing patient consent.
weareHUMAIN – A secure AI platform protecting intellectual property in AI-driven content creation and asset management.
Wellness On Tap – A curated hub for Cornwall’s wellness scene, connecting people to events, practitioners, and products through an interactive directory and calendar.

These innovative companies will compete for an exceptional package of prizes designed to supercharge their growth, including a ticket to the world-renowned Slush event in Helsinki this November.

Cornwall Slush’D will also feature a Venture Village and Ideation Station, showcasing 20-30 early-stage tech startups, as well as a live-streamed Demo Night featuring a further 5 founders and their innovations. It’s the biggest gathering of Tech Startups in Cornwall.

The evening will conclude with an after-party, sponsored by Creative UK Cornwall & Devon.
