Precision engineering firm PrevTech secures SWIF funding for next stage of growth
Wiltshire-based precision engineering business PrevTech has secured a £200,000 investment from the British Business Bank’s South West Investment Fund, delivered by The FSE Group, to support the next stage of its growth.
Based in Marlborough, PrevTech provides precision machining services, manufacturing complex components to exact customer specifications. The business currently serves customers in the motorsport sector, including Formula 1 supply chains, and is building opportunities across other advanced engineering industries.
Having established a reputation for delivering high-quality, rapid-turnaround machining work, PrevTech is seeing growing demand from customers seeking flexible, responsive manufacturing partners. The funding will help the company expand its facilities, recruit additional skilled staff and invest in quality and cyber security accreditations. These developments will support increased production capacity while helping the business access new opportunities in aerospace and defence.
Martyn Roberts, Managing Director and co-founder of PrevTech said: "We've built the business on the back of our experience, technical expertise and a commitment to delivering quality work for customers. Demand has continued to grow, and this investment gives us the confidence and resources to take the next step. Expanding into larger premises, bringing in additional skilled people and achieving the accreditations needed for new sectors will help us unlock exciting opportunities while continuing to support our existing customers."
Amanda Sheppard, Investment Manager at The FSE Group, commented: "PrevTech is a great example of a South West manufacturing business with strong technical capability and clear growth potential. Martyn and Chris have built a solid reputation in a relatively short period and have identified a well-defined route for growth. This funding will help the business increase capacity, create skilled jobs and open up new opportunities in aerospace and defence, supporting the long-term development of the company."
The funding is expected to support the creation of up to five new jobs over the next three years, including CNC machining and quality-focused roles, helping to strengthen advanced manufacturing skills within the region.
Lizzy Upton, Senior Investment Manager at the British Business Bank, said: “Precision engineering businesses like PrevTech have an important role in driving growth in advanced manufacturing and other UK Industrial Strategy priority sectors. The Bank is focused on helping high-potential companies in these sectors scale and remain in the UK and this investment, delivered through the South West Investment Fund, will unlock further growth in the region.”
The purpose of the South West Investment Fund is to drive sustainable economic growth by supporting innovation and creating local opportunity for new and growing businesses across the South West. It offers a range of commercial finance options with smaller loans from £25k to £100k, debt finance from £100k to £2m and equity investment up to £5 million. The fund is increasing the supply and diversity of early‑stage finance for South West smaller businesses, providing funds to firms that might otherwise not receive investment and helping to break down barriers in access to finance.
