A startup born out of Falmouth University’s venture studio, Launchpad, is calling all entrepreneurs over 50 to contribute to a new economic report highlighting the challenges and opportunities for business owners in their ‘greater’ years.

Greater Life, founded by Mike Turner and George Hardwick, is on a mission to support entrepreneurs over 50 plan for a better work life balance. The duo has released its ‘Greater Generation Survey’ with the aim of better understanding the wants and needs of older entrepreneurs.

George explained: “Entrepreneurs over 50 are twice as likely to succeed compared to those in their 20s and 30s. As we head into tougher economic times the wisdom and experience of this generation is needed more than ever.

“We’re keen to understand the major concerns of business owners and the common factors that impact the capacity of over 50s to build their businesses and live the life they want to lead.”

Mike added: “Just recently the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt invited the nation to view the over 50s as experienced rather than labelled as older. This reiterates the need to better understand this demographic and support them to flourish.”

The survey is now open, if you are a business owner over 50 share your thoughts and experiences: Greater Generation Pilot Study (qualtrics.com)
