Bristol-based PyTerra Announces Online Platform to Improve the Carbon Impact of Property Portfolios
Bristol-based PyTerra has announced the launch of MyGreenDoor onto the Bristol market. MyGreenDoor is an online platform aimed at helping landlords and letting agents understand and improve the carbon impact of their property portfolios, while accelerating the roll-out of residential retrofitting to achieve net zero targets.
As part of the government's 2050 net zero target, new Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) regulations are planned, requiring all new tenancies to have an EPC rating of C by the end of 2025, with existing tenancies required to comply by 2028. Additionally, Bristol City Council is working towards city-wide net zero by 2030.
MyGreenDoor will use proprietary data to provide landlords and letting agents with insights on potential improvements that could be made to achieve the required EPC C rating for their property portfolios. The platform also offers cost implications and potential cost savings of making their properties more energy efficient, empowering landlords to make informed decisions.
MyGreenDoor matches landlords’ properties with others in the area, enabling them all to save money on retrofitting work, such as insulation. MyGreenDoor will then link them with an approved contractor, helping them to save time and money. Through MyGreenDoor’s group initiatives, landlords can achieve savings on the total cost of retrofitting.

PyTerra has recently been awarded grant funding as part of a research and development project, with funding received from the European Regional Development Fund, managed by the West of England Combined Authority. PyTerra has partnered with local suppliers to deliver the project, including Rocketmakers, Carnsight Communications and Beautiful Insights.
