Micro-volunteering platform Time4Good launches in Plymouth
Time4Good, a social network focused on micro-volunteering, has launched in Plymouth.
Designed to foster a kinder, more connected city, Time4Good (T4G) makes it easy for residents to participate in small acts of kindness that fit seamlessly into their busy lives - whether it's giving time to a local charity or helping a neighbour with gardening.
Unlike traditional social platforms dominated by likes and shares, Time4Good stands out by rewarding members with kindness points and thank-yous for their positive actions. This fresh approach inspires everyone to spread more kindness within their communities.
At the core of Time4Good are 'Circles’, where members can share and request acts of kindness. These Circles can be tailored for charities, neighbourhoods, workplaces or simply groups of friends.
Members can join multiple Circles to discover opportunities, provide support, or seek help from others. By actively participating, they earn kindness points, which unlock a variety of rewards for their positive contributions.
Citizens Advice Plymouth is one of the first charities to use the platform to find micro-volunteers.
Emma Handley, CEO of Citizens Advice Plymouth, said: “Micro volunteering makes giving time accessible to many more people. We’re hoping that Time4Good will be the catalyst for a kindness movement that’s already happening. It’s not just older people who want to volunteer, Gen Z and Millennials are socially conscious and just need an easy way to find, record and feel good about their small acts of kindness.”
Time4Good co-founder Geoff Muskett said: “We created Time4Good because we fundamentally believe in the goodness of people. Research shows that people want to give time and be kind in their communities but busyness gets in the way. Time4Good is a social network where people can help a charity, or their neighbour, in bite-sized but meaningful ways that fit around their life."
