Rezcomm, headquartered at Exeter Science Park, has announced the launch of Theia, the first voice-activated AI Assistant designed to support airport teams with faster decision-making and clearer operational insight.

In recent years, airports have begun exploring artificial intelligence, often attempting to adapt generic AI tools to fit highly specialised and interconnected systems. However, the layered nature of airport ecosystems, spanning operations, digital platforms, passenger services and commercial data, has made that approach challenging.

Theia has been developed as a purpose-built alternative.

Airport teams can ask questions such as, “What is current car park occupancy?”, “Which products are underperforming today?”, or “How did fast track conversion compare week-on-week?” The assistant securely interprets data across reservations systems, business intelligence platforms, occupancy systems and marketing analytics, returning clear answers within seconds.

It can also analyse revenue performance, identify demand trends and suggest dynamic pricing and optimisation strategies to improve yield. By bringing multiple data sources together through a single voice interface, it removes the need for teams to navigate separate dashboards or compile reports manually.

Alwyn J Veliyeth, CTO at Rezcomm, said:

“Airports operate within highly interconnected, data-rich environments. Trying to make generic AI tools fit that complexity often leads to friction. Theia has been engineered specifically for airport infrastructure, which allows it to deliver relevant, contextual responses from the outset.”

The assistant also supports passengers directly. Travellers can ask questions about their flight, parking or lounge bookings, airport services or on-site facilities. By securely interpreting booking data and connected systems in real time, Theia can provide accurate responses without customers having to search multiple web pages or contact support teams.

Victoria Wallace, Chief Digital Officer at Rezcomm, added:

“This is about making intelligence usable in real operational settings. Airports need tools that understand their ecosystem, not just surface-level data. By designing Theia

specifically for that environment, we are enabling more natural interaction with systems that are traditionally complex.”

Rezcomm works with airports internationally, providing digital marketplace and ecommerce infrastructure. The introduction of Theia positions the Exeter Science Park-based firm at the forefront of applied AI within the aviation sector.

Marc Ive, CEO at Rezcomm, said:

“The aviation industry has been exploring AI for some time, but purpose-built solutions designed around airport ecosystems are now emerging. We are proud to be developing that capability here and delivering it globally.”

Rezcomm is inviting airports to register their interest via its website as development progresses. Find out more at: https://info.rezcomm.com/ai-assistant-waitlist
